Last fall I came across a fellow creative, Zinzi Edmudson, who writes a wonderful substack: Treehouse. She also used to run Knit Wit Magazine. I reached out asking if she'd be interested in collaborating on a knit blanket and to my surprise she said she was in! We brainstormed over coffee and she told me about her obsession with early American wall stencils. We looked at color swatches and I gave Zinzi the task of sending me some stencil designs. These are some of the images she sent:

We decided to take some of these really established motifs and rework their layout to suit a blanket and not, you know, a wall.

Once I had all of these references in-hand, I got to work sketching some potential blanket designs.

The Eaton Blanket is the result of honoring a historic craft and placing it in the context of textiles.
